Overview & Description
At the House of Istrian olive oil, you will learn how Romans made olive oil and how it was exported. See two short films that show the traditional olive oil-making process and how olive oil is made today.
Take a seat in the tasting room and take a close look at the taste, aroma, texture, and appearance of high-quality Istrian olive oils, as well as olive oil typically found in a supermarket. Learn how to recognize good from bad olive oils. Understand the positive and negative attributes of olive oil. Enjoy local Istrian specialties like prosciutto, sausages, fish carpaccio, etc. where you will get to discover which oil pairs best with which food. Of course, all accompanied by delicious Istrian wine.

10:00 – 18:00 May to October
10:00 – 17:00 November to April, guided tours of the museum are only possible by appointment during the off-season.
