Overview & Description
Visit the House of Istrian olive oil – Museum Olei Histriae and discover the story of olive growing in Istria throughout history. Through an educational guided tasting of olive oil, you can learn the basics of sensory analysis and discover why Istrian olive oil was highly valued by the ancient Romans. Learn how they made olive oil and where and how it was exported and see two short films that show the traditional olive oil-making process and how olive oil is made today.
Opening hours:
10:00 – 18:00 May to October
10:00 – 17:00 November to April, guided tours of the museum are only possible by appointment during the off-season.
