Overview & Description
Step off the beaten path and into a quiet journey through Istria’s forested trails, forgotten fortresses, and turquoise coves. Walk & talk isn’t just an interpretative experience — it’s a story unfolding beneath your feet. Begin at the shaded trail of St. Stipan, where silence is broken only by birdsong and the whispers of Mediterranean macchia. By the curious statue of the “Madonna and the Dragon,” your path winds upward into the remnants of an Austro-Hungarian military complex. Here, moss-covered trenches and the windswept viewpoint known as The Guardian of Kvarner reveal panoramic views stretching across the Adriatic, all the way to the islands of Cres and Lošinj — an ideal spot to pause, breathe, and be still. As the trail descends, you’ll move through a protected ancient holm oak forest, part of the NATURA 2000 network. Slowing down, we tune in to the forest’s rhythm — walking softly, seeing clearly, feeling fully. The journey ends at secluded Kala Bay, where stone piers meet the crystal sea and underwater meadows of Posidonia dance just below the surface. Swim (in summer), relax in the shade with seasonal local fruit, or enjoy a cool drink at a nearby beach bar.
